MRS. OTULANA, SAIDAT OLAITAN — DIRECTOR OF CULTURE

MRS. OTULANA, SAIDAT OLAITAN was born on 16th December, 1960 at Lagos Island, Lagos State. She attended the Government Demonstration School, Onitolo, Gbaja – Surulere, AnsarUd-Deen Girls’ High School, Itire and Methodist Girls’ High school, Yaba for her A-Level. She proceeded to University of Lagos where she bagged her Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) Degree in English Language and Philosophy in 1984. She did her Masters degree in Public Administration from the same University (Unilag) between 2008 – 2010.

Mrs.Otulana started her working career with the Federal Department of Culture of the Federal Ministry of Information, Youth, Sports and Culture in 1985. She rose to the position of a Principal Cultural Officer when she transferred her service to the Lagos State Civil Service in July 1997. She was able to being her wealth of experience as a Federal Officer to bear on the administration of the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture. She was the Head of Department, Cultural Heritage and Historical Monuments, HOD, Research, Documentation and Publication and Performing Arts Department at different times in the past 15 years.

She became the substantive Director of Culture at the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture in January 2014, a position she hold till date.

She is happily married to Mr. K. O. Otulana and blessed with children.
